This Privacy Policy explains what data Zulu Method (“the app”) collects, why, how it is used and protected, and the choices and rights you have. We designed Zulu Method to keep your data on your device wherever possible. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal data.
The app is operated by Andrew Reinhard. For any privacy question or request, contact zulumethodsupport@gmail.com.
The following stay on your device and are not transmitted to us: your training profile and goals, generated plans, exercise and run logs, effort ratings, baselines, personal notes, badges, drafts, and the precise GPS coordinates recorded during run tracking. You can export this data, reset it, and undo the most recent import or reset while a local recovery snapshot exists.
When you use certain features, the following data is transmitted off your device to our API (hosted on Render) and, where noted, to a service provider. This table matches the App Store privacy disclosures for the app.
| Data | When & why | Linked to you |
|---|---|---|
| AI Coach requests (your message plus training data) | When you have agreed to AI data sharing and use the AI Coach, your message and relevant training information are sent through our API to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI models) to generate a response. This may include: the messages you send the Coach; your training goals and preferences (goal, experience, days per week, split, equipment, units); your workout plan and upcoming schedule; your logged workout history and progress; estimated strength numbers (e.g. bench, squat, deadlift, overhead-press maxes); any injuries or limitations you entered; and saved Coach “memory” notes (and your workout notes only if you turn on note sharing). Your Apple Health data is never included. No AI request is sent unless you have given consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings. | Yes |
| Summarized fitness metrics (distance, duration, pace) | Sent as Coach context, only when you opt in, so the Coach can give run/workout feedback. Raw GPS coordinates are never sent. | Yes |
| Feedback / customer-support content and optional email address | Sent when you submit feedback or contact support, so we can respond and resolve your request. | Yes |
| App-assigned User ID and Device ID | Used to authenticate requests, enable features, and prevent fraud and abuse. | Yes |
| Purchase history and subscription interactions | Processed by RevenueCat and Apple to manage your subscription status, restores, and entitlements. | Yes |
Every item above is used only for app functionality and is not used for tracking.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the app and subscription features you request); consent (for optional context sharing, Apple Health access, and optional feedback contact details, which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests).
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for advertising. We use the following processors, who act on our behalf and only to deliver the service:
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the service.
Data in transit is protected with encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and server access is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and an unlocked or compromised device cannot be protected by app-level measures. We continue to improve our safeguards over time.
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. California residents (under the CCPA/CPRA) have the rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email zulumethodsupport@gmail.com. We will verify and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use advertising identifiers. Because we do not track, we treat all traffic as “Do Not Track.”
Zulu Method is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated “Last updated” date.
